Think About Turning Today!
November 2012 President’s Message:
The Symposium with Malcomb Tibbetts and Sam Angelo was a great success. The Roaring 20’s location proved to be an excellent venue, we had turners attend from 5 states, and financially we managed to do better than break-even. Members, thank you for all your help with this major project. We can now look forward to more segmented turnings at our show–and-tell.
Our next event is a workshop at Stan Lambert’s Shop on Saturday, November 10 from 9:00 to 3:00. It will be a potluck for lunch so bring a dish. The club will provide the sandwiches. The demonstration will be by Stan Lambert who has acquired a fancy articulating hollowing tool. Do bring your own wood and turning tools so that you can do your own hands-on turning. There will be lots of turners who can give you tips and help. Stan’s address is 504 Pickens Road, Huntley. In case you get lost, call Stan at 348-3499.
Fall is now upon us. This fall has been one of the most colorful in the past several years. I look forward to seeing you on November 10 at Stan’s Workshop and at our regular meeting on November 14.
Meeting place, South Side Senior Citizens Center, 901 South 30 street. (see map below).
