Think About Turning Today!
May 2013 President’s Message:
Our members are faced with spring tasks…. Plant the garden and, definitely, clean up the lawn and prepare the hoses. I am afraid it is going to be a dry summer and that means watering. Let’s all pray for rain.
A generous wife gave the club a pickup load of logs from the South. Her husband retired to Billings from Louisiana and brought the wood with him. Unfortunately he died before he could use it. A group of our members met at Stan Lambert’s Shop and cut the logs into turnable pieces. The pieces are now for sale to our members. And the prices are reasonable for already dried wood. Just mount it on your lathe and turn.
Don’t forget that we will have our next workshop on Saturday, June 15 at Dan Vanderhoof’s Workshop, 1225 Tappadero Drive, in Lockwood. With summer at that time, we can count on a picnic in Dan’s back yard. The project will be to turn goblets.
See you next Wednesday!
