Minutes (Wednesday, November 12, 2014 Meeting)

Officers: Dr. Van, Martin, Stan, Nick, Ron

Show and Tell: November challenge ( Goblet)

Ralph Pehl: Brought a goblet made from Ash, finish unknown.

Dr Van: Brought 2 goblets, one made from Apple and one made from a piece of wood that he had

that was not dry and it warped, unfinished.

Tim Morgan: Brought a finial made from Maple, unfinished.

Dale Molyneaux: Brought a goblet made from Elm, Walnut and Oak finished with Mahoney's oil.

Jerry Gipe: Brought a goblet made from Pedauk and Maple, finished with lacqure.

Stan Lambert: Brought 3 goblets, one made from Babinga with attached ring, finish unknown, one

made from Apple, finish unknown, and the third was very small, kind of wood and

finish unknown.

Other show and tell:

Phil Scott: Brought a bowl made from a Cotton Wood burl, unfinished and a segmented

bowl, kind of woods and finish unknown.

Dr. Van: Brought a clock that had flat work cut out with a scroll saw, kind of wood and

finish unknown. He also brought a segmented bowl, kind of woods and finish

unknown.

Ralph Pehl: Brought a lidded box made from Ash, finish unknown. He also brought a bowl

made from Grape Fruit wood, finish unknown.

Stan Lambert: Brought a candy bowl made from a Maple burl, finish unknown.

Tim Morgan: Brought several small plates made from Walnut and an old butcher block,

finish unknown.

Treasurer’s report: No report this meeting.

New Business:

Gathering wood: On going

Soliciting new members: Talked a bought putting together some of our past ideas

and possible new suggestions.

Hands On Workshops: No workshops until next year.

2015 Dues are due, remain at $25.

Passing of “Creeky”, Floyd Creekmore, age 98, clown noses were passed out at his

Funeral. Dr. Van and Martin went to the funeral and told us it was a very nice

ceremony.

Great Falls Woodturners annual symposium, September 26 & 27 2015, presenter is

Yellowstone Woodturners Symposium for 2015... any ideas?

It was decided to have Douglas Fisher, Parksville, BC, Canada on October

17-18, 2015. Saturday a class-demo Sunday a hands on workshop for 8

with observers welcome. Fees to be decided.

High School classes:

Dan Vanderhoof, Jerry Gipe and Stan Lambert were at the school to teach.

They had a few students show up and did a couple projects. There was some

talk about that as of this year we have not had any students follow up and

show enough interest in joining our club.

Christmas Party:

At our regular meeting, 7:00 PM on December 10 at South Side Senior

Center, potluck.

Monthly turning challenge:

OTHER BUISENESS:

PROGRAM: There was no program this meeting.

PROGRAM: The next meeting program is our Christmas Party.
