Think About Turning Today!

August 2013 President’s Message:

Please note: We are meeting a week early, August 7, 7:00 PM

This meeting will involve the final planning session for the Montana Fair, August 10-17. We hope we can get members to volunteer to man our Hobby Hall booth and demo or visit with fair visitors. We will have our lathes present. Volunteers, please bring your own chisels and wood. Plus we can bring wood from our recent ash donation. The fair is a good opportunity for our club to become known in the community and to pick up new members.

Also at our next meeting we will demo the latest innovation in grinder sharpening, the CBN (cubic boron nitride) steel grinding wheel. This is probably the best sharpening advance in years. We will have a grinder present for the demo and for you to sharpen any chisels that you bring. This is an opportunity for you to see just how well this system works.

So don’t forget…. Bring your chisels that you want sharpened.

Dr. Van
