Think About Turning Today!

March 2012 President’s Message:
Every time you step up to your lathe it is an essential requirement that you “turn safely.” All of us can tell a story about the time a wood blank flew off the chuck, or put a hole in the wall, or left me with a bloody lip. It is also important to periodically review what I have put in place to insure my safety (like having and wearing a face shield, storing my sharp tools in a way I can’t get cut, etc.). That is what we are going to do at the March 14 meeting. If you can, do bring the safety equipment that you use regularly.

Don’t forget that we are going to have a Workshop at Stan Lamberts Shop on March 10. This will happen the Saturday prior to our next meeting so make sure it is on your calendar. We are going to turn bowls. Bring your turning equipment and whatever wood blanks you will be turning.
